Integration - Clustering and Load Balancing

For redundancy and performance, the iBoss can be configured in a load balanced inline configuration. Using bonded 802.3ad ports on a switch, traffic can be balanced across multiple iBosses to provide high availability and high throughput.

Clustered Settings and the Distributed Filtering Platform (DFP)

The iBoss provides full clustering capabilities and allows settings to transparently propagate to all members of an iBoss cluster. The iBoss master will push settings to all members of a group in real-time. Any group member can become master. In addition, clustering allows a user to manage settings via one primary interface even though there may be several members in a cluster.

With the Distributed Filtering Platform (DFP), several iBoss appliances can be placed on separate non-contiguous networks and still be managed via a core central appliance. The core appliance will communicate securely via AES to all members of the cluster even over unsecure links to provide a uniform filtering policy.

Clustered Settings also work in conjunction with load balance to provide a uniform platform for speed, redundancy, and uniform configuration.
